Placement Test Dates

Prior to orientation and registrations, all students entering the university for the first time are assessed in mathematics, English, and reading   The results of these assessment test are critical in placing each student at the proper course level in mathematics, English, and reading classes-assuring the best chance of success in these basic courses. 

 The IU South Bend campus, Elkhart Center, and Plymouth location administers placement exams year round, free of charge. More information can be found at  www.iusb.edu/~sbexams.

Please bring the following items:

You should arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the exam as late arrivals will not be seated.

• Photo ID
• Pencil
• Calculator (if taking the math exam)
• 10-digit student ID number (if you do not know your ID, refer to the following: Admissions Certificate; welcome letter from the Office of Student Services; lookup online using your social security number)
